A free retro tennis game in your browser: slide your paddle, return the ball and outlast a computer opponent as the rally speeds up.
Two paddles, one square ball and a computer opponent that never gets tired. This is 8-bit tennis turned on its side, played as an endless survival run.
The court is vertical: the computer guards the top edge and you guard the bottom. Slide your paddle to meet the ball. Where it strikes the paddle sets the exit angle, up to about 60 degrees from the middle.
Every hit makes the ball faster. The computer speeds up over time too, but its speed has a cap, so a fast ball on a sharp angle will get past it. You have three lives; each ball that gets past you costs one.
CONTROLS
KEYBOARD
Hold Left / Right arrows (or A / D) to slide the paddle.
TOUCH
Hold the big left or right arrow button under the court.
SCORING
+1 for every ball you return, +10 every time the computer misses.
TIPS
Hit the ball near the edge of your paddle to send it off at a steep angle; that is what the computer reads worst.
Drift back to the middle after each return so you are never caught at the far side.
Early on, safe centre returns build points. Once the ball is fast, go for the angles worth ten.
